Room Descriptions

The Royal Thames Yacht Club has many versatile rooms to accommodate a range of functions. The rooms can cater for 12 – 250 guests in different settings. Please click the link beside to find out more about our rooms and their capacities.

Club Rules

Members and guests are expected to maintain a standard of dress in conformity with the tradition and atmosphere of the Club.  ‘Business Casual’ is appropriate throughout the Clubhouse at all times except during weekday evenings after 7pm on the Quarterdeck, in the Cumberland Bar and Coffee Room dining room as specified below.

For the avoidance of doubt, gentlemen are not required to wear a jacket or tie for breakfast nor in the Britannia Bar subject to a collared shirt to be worn at all times by gentlemen. From 1100 on weekdays on the Quarterdeck, in the Cumberland Bar and in the Coffee Room dining room, gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and shirt with collar/roll-neck sweater (ties optional) and ladies should dress appropriately.

Members and guests should avoid any form of dress that might cause offence. The minimum acceptable weekday dress in the ground floor public rooms and on the Britannia Deck is polo shirt, chinos and sailing shoes or equivalent.

After 1900 Monday – Thursday, gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and tie on the Quarterdeck, in the Cumberland Bar and in the Coffee Room dining room.  Ladies should dress appropriately.

After 1600 on Friday -1100 on Monday, the weekend dress code is smart casual that may include smart jeans (not frayed, holed or dirty).

The Cumberland Bar on the first floor is exclusively reserved for members and their guests. If a bar service is required at the end of a function, special arrangements can be made to keep the ground floor Britannia Bar open.  Anyone organising a function is asked to respect this and not let guests wander into the Cumberland Bar.

All details regarding the booking of your function must be confirmed with the Functions Manager no later than 11.00am of the Thursday the week before your booking. We will accept final numbers 72 hours before your event, this will be the minimum number charged.
